Long Hiatus Over!

After a long hiatus and two wonderful months in South Korea visiting my husband, PeaceLoveSugar is back in business. Coming this week we've got butterfly themed baby shower cupcakes and special cake truffles to be used in a "trash the dress" photo shoot by Lynn Michelle Renkin. Lynn is a fabulous wedding photographer and I've got the pleasure of trashing my dress while she captures it all on film. We are going to incorporated my passion, baking, by using my truffles. Stay tuned for pictures! In the mean time you can see some of her work at http://www.lynnmichelle.com/. Give her a look....you won't be disappointed!

PeaceLoveSugar will be moving to Killeen, Texas in less than two months due to my husbands arrival back in the US. I will still be available to ship orders and can always make arrangements for special deliveries to the DFW area.

To everyone in the Central Texas area, I am excited to bring some peace, love and sugar your way. I look forward to creating some pizazz in the kitchen and bringing scrumptious sweets to your next event. Email any questions, inquiries or orders to
peacelovesugarsweets@gmail.com or pick up the phone and let's have a chat. (214-448-3512)

Summer Truffles

Hey everyone!

Summer is right around the corner and I have been itching to make some cake truffles with summery flavors. I played around all week with some new ideas to take to Swoozies and here is what I came up with.

My favorites in order are:
- Pina Colada
- Key Lime
- Peanut Butter
- Strawberry
- Chocolate
They are all amazingly wonderful and the rumor on the street is that PeaceLoveSugar cake truffles are the only known cure for Swine Flu! :)

Movie Night

It's little miss Rece's 9th birthday and she is having a movie themed party. They rented a movie theatre to have a private screening of Kitt Kittredge - An American Girl while munching on typical movie snacks. Her aunt contacted me about making a cake to match the theme and after brainstorming we decided on a popcorn bucket. This cake was 6 layers of vanilla cake with vanilla whipped icing along with raspberry filling. Doesn't it look scrumptious?
Happy Birthday Rece!!

Boxed Truffles

These truffles are making their way to Orange, Texas for a bake sale to raise money to pay for a child's trip to church camp.

The PeaceLoveSugar love is now being spread across our great state! Which town will welcome the love next? Where will the first batch of PeaceLoveSugar wonderfulness go that is out of our great state?

Oh happy day!

Swoozies - Highland Park

One of my favorite gift stores is Swoozies. The bright colors draw me in every time! This store is worse than Wal Mart for me. I can go in with a list of just a couple of items and I leave with bags upon bags of cute things.
The Highland Park store has agreed to let me put my truffles on display. Along with themed truffles to look at I am delivering tons of free samples. If you are out and about in the Highland Park area swing into Swoozies and try one or fifty!

This Thursday they are kicking off their "Grad Fest" so I put this bucket together to show some options for the graduate! Graduation parties are upon us and what better way to decorate your party table than with something edible and delicious! These make great gifts too and can be personalized by name, high school, college attending etc.

While we are on the subject of bouquets, these buckets would make wonderful Mother's Day presents or teacher appreciation gifts. Each flower could feature the name of the student's in your child's class. Just something to think about...

Enjoy!

The Girls Room

My cake truffles went to a good cause this past weekend.

The Girls Room is a dance studio in Dallas where I had the pleasure attending a private session for a friend's bachelorette party last summer. I got word that they were having a fundraiser/charity event for the Genesis Women's Shelter. I emailed Karyn, the owner of the studio, and asked her if she would like some complimentary cake truffle trays to go along with their other appetizers. She was excited and agreed. While I wasn't able to make it to the event I am sure that it was a success!

Here are some pictures I snapped of the trays.

"Teasers and Pleasers" are common terms at The Girls Room.
Go take a class and find out! It's a TON of fun.
